
Apart from the formal celebration of the “International Yoga Day” near the iconic Burj Khalifa, Zabeel Park and Burhani complex with public participation, CGI Dubai prepares to take forward the Yoga Day with the motto “Yoga at your door step” by inviting all residents to be part of this celebration by doing Yoga wherever they can .
Interacting today with the Indian Community and the media , Consul General Vipul today said that for this year the celebrations of the ‘International Yoga Day” will be spread during three days starting from the 20th of June 2017.
A number of community events are being organized at different locations in different Emirates to encourage participation of a wider audience on the Yoga day. To reach out to the younger generation, schools are also being encouraged to follow the Yoga protocol with the students on the International Yoga Day.
A short video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveying the message of the benefits of Yoga and calling for the mass movement for the spread of the Yoga was played before the expat audience.
Consul General also informed that PM Modi has written to all world leaders including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Muḥammad bin Rāshid al Maktūm the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Emir (Ruler) of Dubai regarding the International Day of Yoga underlining the relevance of Yoga which connects the body , mind , heart and soul.
Mr Ghazi Sebil of Dubai Sports Council who was also present for the interaction lauded the International Yoga Day as a ’good event and a good initiative by India’ and offered all support of the UAE government for the event.
Meanwhile, Indian Ambassador Navdeep Suri has said that UAE’s Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan will participate along with other prominent dignitaries at the International Yoga Day in Abu Dhabi
