In Nigeria, Boko Haram terrorists have killed nine people in two separate attacks in the country’s northeast.

The first attack took place when six people collecting firewood were shot dead at Jinene village in Borno. The second attack occurred in Pallam village of Adamawa that saw the terrorists seize food, before burning several shops and homes.

Nigeria’s military and government say that the insurgents are a spent force. Nearly nine years of violence has killed at least 20,000 people and forced more than 2.6 million from their homes.
