In Yemen, at least 36 people have been killed and 185 wounded in two days of heavy fighting between separatists and government troops in the interim capital, Aden.
The head of the International Committee for the Red Cross Mission in Yemen, Carlos Batallas said this on Twitter. Clashes between forces loyal to President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi and separatists have continued in Aden, with both sides now using tanks and heavy artillery.
Heavy clashes erupted on Sunday after the expiry of a deadline set by the separatist Southern Transitional Council for a cabinet reshuffle, including the removal of Prime Minister Ahmed bin Daghar.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led military coalition, which supports the government, today called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to all forms of armed conflict.
