In China, 12 people were killed and another 12 suffered injuries after a suspected methane gas explosion. The blast hit an under-construction railway tunnel in the southern province of Guizhou.
Officials said those killed had been trapped inside the tunnel after yesterday’s blast. The tunnel is designed to enable the construction of a high-speed railway connecting Sichuan province with Guizhou.
