Increase in Dearness Allowance for Urban Body Pensioners, Benefits Effective from October 1, 2024

The state government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for pensioners and family pensioners of urban bodies. The Urban Administration and Development Department has increased the DA for pensioners under the 7th Pay Commission by 4% and for those under the 6th Pay Commission by 9%. Pensioners and family pensioners under both pay commissions will benefit from this increase from October 1, 2024.
The department has issued orders in this regard from the ministry today after approval from Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Sao. After the increase in DA by the state government, the DA for pensioners under the 7th and 6th Pay Commissions will be 50% and 239%, respectively. Currently, pensioners under the 7th Pay Commission are getting 46% DA and those under the 6th Pay Commission are getting 230% DA.
