The School Education Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh has taken serious note of indiscipline and inappropriate conduct and has suspended Mr. L.P. Patel, the In-Charge District Education Officer of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, with immediate effect. The suspension has been carried out under the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965.

During the High School and Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education in March 2025, Mr. Patel made unauthorized changes to the flying squad constituted by the district collector. Additionally, he was found guilty of threatening, using abusive language, and mentally harassing the then in-charge District Education Officer. The Collector of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh issued a show-cause notice regarding this behavior, and Mr. Patel’s response was found unsatisfactory.

His conduct has been deemed a violation of Rule 3 of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965. As a result, he has been suspended and assigned Bilaspur Divisional Joint Director’s Office as his headquarters during the suspension period.
The District Education Officer of Raigarh has been given additional charge of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh.
