Historic Event at Bageshwar Dham: Mass Wedding of 251 Underprivileged Brides

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Shivratri Mahotsav and the mass wedding ceremony of 251 underprivileged brides at Bageshwar Dham today. The event was a unique confluence of religious devotion, social commitment, and national unity.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated that Chhattisgarh is a land of saints and deep-rooted faith. He emphasized that Lord Shri Ram spent a significant part of his exile in Chhattisgarh, making it a land of spiritual and cultural significance. He expressed his pride in being part of such a divine event at Bageshwar Dham. He also highlighted that tradition and culture play an essential role in shaping an individual’s life.
Resolution for a Naxal-Free Chhattisgarh
CM Sai reaffirmed his government’s historic commitment to eradicating Naxalism from Chhattisgarh. With the support of the “double-engine government” (central and state governments), a target has been set to eliminate Naxalism completely by March 31, 2026. He praised the state’s security forces for their unwavering efforts and credited Home Minister Vijay Sharma for successfully leading this mission.
Curbing Religious Conversions and Promoting Ghar Wapsi
CM Sai stressed that the government is actively working to preserve Chhattisgarh’s religious and cultural harmony by preventing forced religious conversions and encouraging the Ghar Wapsi movement. He paid tribute to the late Dilip Singh Judeo, known for his efforts in countering religious conversions. The government, he assured, would adopt a strict policy against religious conversions and reconnect society with its original roots.

A special sense of enthusiasm filled Bageshwar Dham as 251 underprivileged brides were married in a grand Vedic ceremony. As part of the event, each newlywed couple received essential household items to help them begin their new journey.

CM Sai highlighted that the event at Bageshwar Dham was not only a celebration of Sanatan Dharma but also a historic step toward fostering social unity, harmony, and uplifting underprivileged brides. He stated that the Chhattisgarh government is honored to be part of such an event and is committed to supporting similar social and religious initiatives in the future.

Baba Bageshwar also highlighted the joint efforts of the central and state governments to completely free Chhattisgarh from Naxalism within the next two years. He emphasized that Chhattisgarh, known as the “Rice Bowl of India,” is a land of faith and culture. “Whenever we visit Chhattisgarh, we always say – ‘Chhattisgarhiya Sabse Badiya’ (Chhattisgarh people are the best).” He prayed for the state’s continued prosperity, peace, and abundance.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, other prominent dignitaries, and thousands of devotees.
