Health Secretary Kataria held review meeting of Medical College and Ambedkar Hospital

Health Secretary Amit Kataria held a review meeting of the medical college and Ambedkar Hospital today.

In the meeting, the Health Secretary directed to make a master plan for various needs and future plans. After the meeting, he inspected the Radiodiagnosis Department, Kitchen, Cancer Department, proposed integrated 700-bed hospital site and the newly under-construction mortuary house of Ambedkar Hospital.

Commissioner Medical Education Kiran Kaushal, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, CGMSC Director Padmini Bhoi, Medical College Dean Dr. Vivek Choudhary and Superintendent Dr. Santosh Sonkar were also present with him in the meeting.

During the inspection, the Health Secretary and the Commissioner of Medical Education directed to build a family residence in the hospital premises for the stay of the relatives of the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital. Along with this, the Collector said that the proposed shed construction work at the designated place in the complex should be completed as soon as possible for the organizations willing to distribute free food to the patient’s families.

In the meeting, Health Secretary Kataria took information from the officials about the ongoing and proposed construction works for the upgradation of the medical college and hospital.

Dean Dr. Vivek Choudhary gave a brief introduction of the medical college and presented the account of departmental budget and income-expenditure.

He informed the Health Secretary about the facilities and requirements available in various departments. He told that the construction of resident quarters and hostels in the government land received from the Forest Department, the beautification of the outer part of the 1500-seated auditorium building of the medical college and the construction of G Plus Two to G Plus Seven Cancer Hospital under the hospital expansion work are already proposed which is to be started under the civil work of the Public Works Department. Along with this, he gave information about the provided budget and the current status of the work for the maintenance work of ACs installed in the medical college building, electrification work in the premises, CCTV camera installation work and fire fighting electric work.

In the meeting, the Health Secretary directed the CGMSC officials to complete the mortuary upgradation and expansion work within a stipulated time frame. Along with this, he asked the officials of the Public Works Department and the Trauma Construction Committee to complete the necessary process for the much-awaited L-2 Trauma Care Center soon.

Ambedkar Hospital Superintendent Dr. Santosh Sonkar, while presenting the four-year action plan in the meeting, informed the Health Secretary that future plans like making a way next to the Cardiology Department for garbage management for the hospital, construction of fire exits from S.N.C.U. and I.C.U. and e-filing for the record of M.R.D. are proposed. Regarding the implementation of Next Gen e-Hospital in the direction of digitalization, Dr. Onkar Khandwal informed the Health Secretary and apprised him about the facility of tele-radiology.
On this occasion, Head of the Department of Radiodiagnosis of the Medical College Dr. S.B.S. Netam, Head of the Department of Orthopedics Dr. Ravikant Das, Head of the Department of Cancer Dr. Manjula Beck, Head of the Department of Physiology Dr. Sumit Tripathi, Dr. Diwakar Dhurandhar, Head of the Department of Pediatrics Dr. Onkar Khandwal, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Anil Baghel, Dr. Anand Jaiswal, Nursing Superintendent Ms. Nanda Rangari along with PWD officials and employees were present.
