Raipur, January 7
Chhattisgarh’s health department team is fully prepared to deal with the Human Metapneumovirus, commonly known as HMPV virus.
Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal today held a meeting with senior officials of the health department at Naya Raipur, giving necessary directions regarding maintaining vigilance and preparations for the virus.
After cases of this virus were found in some parts of the country, Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has said that a team of experts in the health department is continuously monitoring this virus and studying its symptoms and effects.
Jaiswal has said that the health department is fully prepared for any kind of emergency since the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that our full effort is to prevent this virus and also to make the general public aware to fight against it. The Health Minister said that this virus has been reported earlier and there is no need to panic, but it is necessary to be cautious. He has urged the general public to emphasize hygiene.
To avoid the virus, do this
According to experts, to avoid the HMPV virus, maintain a distance from crowded places, do not come in contact with patients with cold, cough, and fever, get tested at your local hospital immediately if you have symptoms of cold, cough, and fever so that you do not have to face any kind of problem. Cover your mouth and nose with a handkerchief while coughing or sneezing, keep your hands clean with soap and sanitizer, stay at home if you are sick, drink plenty of water and eat nutritious food.
Don’t do this
Do not reuse tissue paper even if you have a cold, cough, or fever, or in a normal situation. Do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth frequently. Do not spit in public places and do not use any medicine without consulting a doctor.
It is noteworthy that the HMPV virus spreads through droplets expelled from the nose or mouth when an infected person coughs or sneezes, by touching an infected person, or by touching a contaminated surface and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Common symptoms include cold, cough, fever, and difficulty breathing in winter. In some severe cases, pneumonia and bronchitis are also symptoms of this disease. As soon as information was received about patients in some states of the country, the state health department has been engaged in its preparations. According to experts, this is a common respiratory virus that usually appears during the winter months.
