In Chhattisgarh, festivals are more than religious or cultural occasions — they are living expressions of lifestyle, tradition, taste, and community bonding. Continuing this rich tradition, the state’s flagship agricultural festival Hareli Tihar turned into a sensory delight at Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s residence, where a grand feast of traditional Chhattisgarhi cuisine won the hearts of all present.

In a heartfelt tribute to the state’s unparalleled culinary legacy, a spread of iconic delicacies like Thethri, Khurmi, Pidiya, Anarsa, Khaja, Kari Laddu, Muthiya, Gul-gula Bhajiya, Cheela-Faraa, Bara, and Chausela was specially prepared to welcome guests. The aromatic feast was served in bamboo trays (soop), woven baskets (pitari), and traditional leaf plates (dona-pattal), capturing both the flavour and soul of rural life.

Guests relished the piping-hot dishes and wholeheartedly praised the depth and authenticity of Chhattisgarh’s culinary artistry. CM Sai himself tasted the offerings and remarked that Hareli Tihar is not just a celebration of farming, but also a reflection of the region’s cultural warmth, traditions, and deep emotional connect.

“These dishes embody the simplicity, hard work, and culinary richness of our mothers and sisters — they represent our true identity,” said the Chief Minister. “This celebration not only showcases the significance of Hareli but also reaffirms that the soul of Chhattisgarh lies in its soil, flavours, and traditions.”

Every corner of the venue was infused with the earthy aroma of Chhattisgarhi culture. The rhythmic beats of dhol and manjeera accompanied folk dances, while the irresistible aroma of local delicacies pulled people toward the food stalls. Artists in traditional attire and heartfelt cultural performances brought life and intimacy to the gathering.

Senior officials, public representatives, artists, and citizens who attended the event described it as a deeply memorable cultural experience — a true celebration of Chhattisgarh’s rich heritage.
