Chhattisgarh’s vibrant cultural identity and deep-rooted agricultural traditions came alive at the Chief Minister’s residence as Hareli Tihar was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dignity. The event turned into a stunning spectacle where age-old customs met modern innovations — a seamless display of traditional tools, folk attire, regional cuisine, and new-age agricultural technology. The venue was tastefully decked in Chhattisgarhi themes, with guests, artists, and citizens adorning rural outfits and immersing themselves in the folk spirit.

The Hareli celebrations featured an eye-catching display of both traditional and modern agricultural tools. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited the exhibition area and closely observed various heritage implements and artefacts. Among the traditional items on display were Katha (a wooden grain measurer used in the past), Khumri (a bamboo-and-cowry-laced headshade for herders), Jhampi (a bamboo chest used during weddings), Kansi ki Dori (a handmade rope used for weaving charpais), and Tutari (an instrument used to manage cattle).

Alongside these were modern farm equipment presented by the state agriculture department — including ploughs, spades, hoes, rotavators, seed drills, power tillers, and sprayers — giving visitors a comparative glimpse of farming evolution. The exhibition was informative and inspiring, especially for farmers, students, and youth.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sai remarked that Hareli is more than a festival — it is a tribute to agricultural life, livestock, and reverence for nature. He lauded the exhibition for offering meaningful insights and for promoting awareness among the public. The CM also appreciated the technological advances in agriculture and emphasized that blending tradition with innovation will make Chhattisgarh’s farming more productive and sustainable.

“By equipping our farmers with modern tools and know-how, we can scale new heights in agricultural productivity,” he said.

The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from farmers, students, citizens, and public representatives. It beautifully brought together Chhattisgarh’s folk heritage and agricultural innovation, standing as a powerful symbol of the state’s rich traditions and progressive vision.
