Guidelines Issued by Government for Celebration of Independence Day

In preparation for the grand and dignified celebration of the national festival, Independence Day, across the state, the government has initiated necessary arrangements. A state-level coordination meeting was recently held under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Government. During the meeting, the Additional Chief Secretary instructed all concerned departments to ensure that this year’s Independence Day celebration, like every year, is organized in a dignified, well-coordinated, and patriotic atmosphere.
The main ceremony will be held at Police Parade Ground in Raipur from 9:00 AM on August 15. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will hoist the National Flag and deliver an address to the people. A Guard of Honour will be presented to the Chief Minister by a combined parade.
The responsibility of the parade in Raipur has been entrusted to the Inspector General of Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces. The parade will feature contingents from the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (both men and women), Home Guard, and NCC cadets.
On Independence Day, various departments will present medals and awards. For this purpose, departments must form juries and submit the list of selected names to the General Administration Department by July 29, 2025. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s message to the public will be broadcast across the state via Doordarshan and All India Radio. After the main ceremony, students will perform patriotic group dances and songs. A jury will be formed by the School Education Department to judge these performances, and awards will be distributed on-site.
The District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and Municipal Commissioner of Raipur have been assigned several key responsibilities regarding the arrangements for the main event.
On the night of August 15, all public buildings and national monuments in the state will be illuminated, and private institutions are also encouraged to hoist the flag and install lighting.
Instructions have also been issued to District Collectors for organizing programs and exhibitions at district, block, and panchayat levels. Families of freedom fighters and security personnel martyred in Naxal violence will be respectfully invited to the celebrations.
