Grant Demands of Over ₹3,890.67 Crore Approved for Departments Under Revenue Minister

The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly today approved grant demands totaling ₹3,890.67 crore for the departments under Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma for the financial year 2025-26. This includes:

₹2,158.65 crore for Land Revenue and District Administration
₹26.49 crore for expenses related to the Revenue Department
₹1,552.69 crore for relief expenditures in disaster-affected and drought-prone areas
₹152.83 crore for the Sports and Youth Welfare Department
Several legislators, including Ajay Chandrakar, Ramkumar Yadav, Ambika Markam, Prabodh Minz, Kunwar Singh Nishad, Rakesh Sen, and Dharamjeet Singh, participated in discussions on these grant demands.

Revenue and Land Administration
Minister Verma highlighted that the Revenue Department plays a crucial role in implementing most government schemes. Efforts are being made to modernize processes and improve record accessibility for the public. Key allocations include:

₹2,158.65 crore for land revenue and district administration
₹26.49 crore for the Government Printing Press
₹2.86 crore for rehabilitation programs
₹1,552.69 crore for disaster relief
Swamitva Yojana & Bhoomihin Krishi Kalyan Yojana
Under the Swamitva Yojana, over 55,000 property ownership cards were distributed in January 2025.
The Deendayal Bhoomihin Krishi Kalyan Yojana benefited 5 lakh families in FY 2024-25, with ₹500 crore deposited directly into their bank accounts.
Digital Land Records & Revenue Services
The Digital India Land Records Modernization Program is progressing well, with key achievements:

Completion of digital land surveys across 13,313 villages in 26 districts
Geo-referencing of Patwari maps, facilitating better demarcation, mutation, and error correction
Revenue recovery of ₹606.29 crore collected
Infrastructure & Modernization
₹40 crore allocated for maintenance of revenue offices
₹10 crore each for new tehsil office buildings in Bilaspur, Durg, Surguja, and Khairagarh
₹11.21 crore for computer equipment and office furniture
₹163.22 crore allocated for 762 revenue courts
₹25.85 crore for CM Digital Empowerment Scheme
₹5 crore for digitizing old records at Balodabazar-Bhatapara District Office and Tehsil Office
Disaster Management & Rehabilitation
₹533.60 crore for the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF)
₹50 crore for the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF)
₹133.40 crore for the State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF)
₹62.30 lakh for the Office of the Rehabilitation Commissioner
₹2.13 crore for the Commandant Office at Mana Camp, Raipur
Sports & Youth Welfare
The budget for sports and youth welfare is ₹190.51 crore, with key allocations:

₹50 crore for Chhattisgarhiya Sports Promotion Scheme
₹13.47 crore for a Sports Academy
₹5 crore for Bastar Olympics, which gained immense participation from tribal communities
₹2.8 crore for rural sports competitions
₹2.5 crore for women’s sports competitions
₹4 crore for high-level sports training programs
₹1 crore for the Sports Development Authority
₹3 crore for sports festivals
₹3 crore for state-level sports awards
₹2 crore for National Games preparation
₹1.5 crore for the Yuva Ratna Samman Yojana, recognizing young sports talent
₹5 crore for the State Youth Festival
₹5 crore for youth welfare activities
₹2 crore for the State Youth Commission
₹47 crore for sports infrastructure and stadiums
Additionally, the government has announced a 2% reservation in government jobs for outstanding sportspersons. Two State Sports Awards ceremonies were organized in 2024 to honor and encourage athletes.

The grant demands for the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Revenue Department, and Disaster Management were passed by voice vote in the assembly.
