Government is Committed to the Empowerment of Divyangjan – CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the Diwali Milan ceremony organized by the Chhattisgarh Cement Transport Welfare Association at a private hotel in the capital, Raipur. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai shared the joy of Diwali with needy Divyang (persons with disabilities) children. He said that the state government is fully committed to the empowerment of Divyangjan. He announced that a fully-equipped park for Divyangjan will be constructed on 5 acres of land in Raipur.
Chief Minister Shri Sai met the Divyang children with great affection and extended his heartfelt Diwali greetings. The children studying at the Kompalvani and Arpan Divyang Sanstha (Institutions for the Disabled) gave a beautiful demonstration of sign language in front of the Chief Minister and other guests. Chief Minister Shri Sai repeated the children’s signs, learning words like “Good Morning” and “Good Afternoon” in sign language from them.
The Chief Minister said that commendable work is being done for the development of Divyangjan in the state. Free artificial limbs are being provided to Divyangjan. Loan facilities have also been arranged to make them self-reliant by connecting them with self-employment. He mentioned that Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Khatik, had announced the construction of a Divyang Park in Raipur, and now this fully-equipped Divyang Park will be developed on 5 acres of land in Raipur.
Chief Minister Shri Sai praised the Chhattisgarh Cement Transport Welfare Association for organizing the Diwali Milan program with Divyang children. He said that the Association is excellently fulfilling its social responsibility through public service work. Earlier, the Association had also provided an ambulance for patients, which is benefiting many needy people.
The Chief Minister stated that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of Chhattisgarh, which we are celebrating as the Silver Jubilee Year. It is a matter of pride for us that this year Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Rajyotsava (State Festival). Prime Minister Shri Modi has set the goal of a Developed India by 2047. Moving in that direction, we must take the resolve to build a Developed Chhattisgarh. For this, the state government has prepared a Developed Chhattisgarh Vision Document. We will surely achieve this goal with everyone’s cooperation.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the continuous expansion of roads in the state is significantly increasing its connectivity. The construction work of the Raipur–Visakhapatnam and Raipur–Dhanbad routes under the Bharatmala Project is in progress.
Former Governor of Maharashtra and Tripura, Shri Ramesh Bais, said that as a Member of Parliament, he was a member of the Social Justice Standing Committee formed for Divyangjan. They conducted an extensive study for the Divyang Bill in Parliament. After the bill was passed, the facilities available to Divyangjan increased threefold. As Governor, he had the opportunity to visit institutions working for Divyangjan. He said that common people often do not understand the challenges faced by Divyangjan.
Addressing the program, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that the reduction in GST rates this time led to an even grander celebration of the Diwali festival. He mentioned that former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji created the state of Chhattisgarh, whose Silver Jubilee we are celebrating today.
Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma said that the planned development of Chhattisgarh is continuously progressing under the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The dream of a Developed Chhattisgarh will be realized with everyone’s cooperation.
Skill Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb said that organizing the Diwali Milan with Divyangjan is a symbol of excellent thought. Happiness increases by sharing, and it is a pleasure to see the Association active in public service and connecting others in society with it.
Divyang painter Shri Gokarna Patil, who paints with his feet, displayed his amazing art before the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister appreciated his art and encouraged him. The Chief Minister also distributed warm clothes to the Divyang children at the event.
On this occasion, MLA Shri Indra Kumar Sahu, Raipur Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaube, President of Chhattisgarh Cement Transport Welfare Association Shri Anjay Shukla along with other office bearers, children from Kompalvani and Arpan Divyang Sanstha, and dignitaries were present.
