Good Governance Means Public Convenience, Prompt Problem Solving, and Quality Service: CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the purpose of “Sushasan Tihar” is to evaluate the ground reality of the government’s work over the past one and a half years and to engage directly with the public to gather feedback. He emphasized that the state government is committed to public service, and every officer and employee must work with alertness and sensitivity. He added that ensuring public convenience, promptly addressing issues, and providing quality service are the true pillars of good governance. The Chief Minister made these remarks during a review meeting held at the Kondagaon Collectorate’s conference hall.
He highlighted the need to focus on forest-produce-based employment in the Bastar region, recommending value addition to products like tamarind and silk cocoons to generate more local employment opportunities. He stressed the promotion of sericulture, beekeeping, and lac production, and instructed officials to encourage commercial activities through the promotion and marketing of locally produced goods.
In light of a large number of applications received under the Ujjwala Yojana, the Chief Minister directed officials to increase refill percentages and intensify awareness efforts about LPG subsidies. He instructed that revenue cases, especially those related to land demarcation, be resolved by June 15.
Speaking about agriculture, the Chief Minister noted that maize is a major crop in the Bastar division and should be linked with advanced technologies to improve productivity. He also urged collectors to take personal interest in promoting the cultivation of organic aromatic rice, and make special efforts in certification, marketing, and branding.
Principal Secretary Shri Subodh Singh instructed officials to expedite correction of errors, especially those related to name spellings, and to address the high number of pending houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Kondagaon district. Given the shortage of masons, it was suggested to train local youth, with appreciation given to Bijapur district’s initiative of training surrendered Maoists as masons, which was recommended as a model for other districts.
Reviewing the progress of National Highway construction, the Chief Minister directed swift resolution of issues related to forest clearance, retendering processes, and compensation matters, so that construction work can be accelerated.
The meeting was attended by Bastar MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap, Keskal MLA Shri Neelkanth Tekam, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh, Secretary Dr. Basavaraju S., Commissioner Shri Doman Singh, IG Shri Sundarraj P., as well as Collectors, Superintendents of Police, Zila Panchayat CEOs, Divisional Forest Officers, and other officials from the three districts.
