From Darkness to Light: A New Dawn of Education in Lampahad

Raipur, August 23
Lampahad, a dependent village of the Lamgaon Panchayat in Korba district, long deprived of the mainstream of development, is now being illuminated by the light of education. Nestled amid dense forests and challenging geographical conditions, this area once cast a shadow over the future of its children due to schools without teachers. Following the directives of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, a rationalization initiative has led to the appointment of regular teachers here, enabling the smooth commencement of teaching and learning processes in schools.
Lampahad is home predominantly to the specially backward tribal community of Pahadi Korwas. Earlier, the limited educational facilities hindered children’s studies. After the promotion and subsequent transfer of the previously posted teacher, regular teachers were unavailable for years. The government’s rationalization initiative has provided a permanent solution to this issue. Now, with the appointment of two teachers in the primary school and one in the secondary school, the future of children here is beginning to brighten.
Currently, 33 students study in the primary school and 19 in the secondary school, most of whom belong to the Pahadi Korwa community. Teachers such as Shri Kaleshwar Ram Katela in the primary school and Shri Deepak Yadav in the secondary school, along with other staff, conduct classes regularly. The students shared that classes are now held on time, teachers remain present throughout the day, and under the midday meal scheme, they receive both snacks and meals.
Students Sukshila, Phoolmati, Sangeeta, Devshila, and Phulmania expressed happiness, saying they now have the opportunity for continuous study. Their guardians are also pleased with the school’s proximity and the regular attendance of teachers. This new dawn of education in Lampahad is not only steering the Pahadi Korwa children toward a bright future but is also marking a milestone in connecting this region to the mainstream of development.
