Forest Minister Kashyap Plants Sapling to Launch ‘Women for Tree’ Campaign

Raipur, August 22

Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap today planted a sapling in Lokmanya Tilak Ward of Jagdalpur city to inaugurate the ‘Women for Tree’ campaign under the Amrit Yojana. On this occasion, Jagdalpur MLA Mr. Kiran Dev, Mayor Mr. Sanjay Pandey, along with other public representatives and dignitaries, also participated in the tree planting.

Notably, this campaign is being conducted across three different wards in Jagdalpur city. Under this initiative, Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap launched the planting drive in Lokmanya Tilak Ward. In Praveer Ward, near the old bridge over the Indravati River, and in Maharana Pratap Ward, at the old dumping site, 300 saplings will be planted in each location, totaling 900 new plants. A special aspect of this initiative is that the responsibility for caring for these plants has been assigned to three women’s self-help groups. This step is aimed at empowering women and ensuring their participation in environmental conservation.

Minister Kashyap appreciated the initiative, stating that trees and plants are an essential part of our lives, and planting and nurturing them is our responsibility. He also said that this campaign will not only enhance the beauty of the city but will also help address global challenges like climate change. This campaign is a significant step towards making Jagdalpur a green and healthy city. Administrative officials and a large number of citizens were also present at the event, welcoming the initiative and actively participating in it.
