Finance Minister OP Chaudhary Presents Historic Budget Under CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s Leadership

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Finance Minister OP Chaudhary has presented a historic budget for the state. The 2025-26 budget includes major announcements for public health, family welfare, and medical education, aiming to provide accessible, modern, and high-quality healthcare to citizens.
₹1,850 crore allocated under the National Health Mission to expand healthcare services.
₹1,500 crore for the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Ayushman Health Scheme, ensuring free medical treatment for underprivileged families.
Strengthening Healthcare Services
Reacting to the budget, Minister for Public Health & Family Welfare, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, stated:
“Under the leadership of CM Vishnu Deo Sai, our government is giving top priority to public health. This budget marks a historic step towards strengthening healthcare services. It will not only provide free treatment to the needy but also expand healthcare facilities across the state.”
Modernization of Medical Colleges & Hospitals
To enhance medical care, existing healthcare institutions are being upgraded:
₹10 crore allocated for the expansion of the Advanced Cardiac Institute at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur, benefiting heart patients with cutting-edge treatment.
₹20 crore allotted to Raipur Medical College for acquiring modern equipment for cancer and critical illness treatment.
₹10 crore sanctioned for setting up an ART (IVF) center in Raipur, providing advanced fertility treatments for childless couples.
₹35 crore allocated for the installation of MRI and CT scan machines, improving diagnostic facilities in government hospitals.
Minister Jaiswal emphasized:
“Expanding advanced healthcare services is our priority. Through this budget, government hospitals and medical colleges will be equipped with modern medical technology, ensuring high-quality treatment for citizens.”
New Initiatives for Rural & Remote Areas
Recognizing the need to improve healthcare access in tribal and remote areas, the government has introduced several initiatives:
₹13 crore allocated to enhance the Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazaar Clinic Scheme, ensuring mobile healthcare services in rural regions.
₹13 crore sanctioned for setting up a dedicated Sickle Cell Institute, focusing on prevention and treatment of sickle cell disease.
₹132 crore allocated for the establishment of Super Specialty Hospitals, providing advanced healthcare facilities.
₹21 crore sanctioned under the Chhattisgarh Emergency Medical Response Service Scheme, strengthening emergency medical services across the state.
Jaiswal further stated:
“Our government is committed to ensuring that even the most remote regions have access to quality healthcare. Through initiatives like the Haat-Bazaar Clinic Scheme and the Sickle Cell Institute, we aim to bring essential medical services closer to the people.”
