In a remarkable achievement for the state, Chhattisgarh has exported 12 metric tons of Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) to Costa Rica, marking a proud moment for India’s global trade and nutrition mission.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described this accomplishment as a matter of immense pride for Chhattisgarh, stating that the state’s identity is being strengthened on the global stage, while its reputation in the fields of nutrition, quality, and prosperity continues to reach new heights.

“This achievement is an extension of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary campaign against malnutrition, which is now making an impact at the global level,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that this milestone opens new opportunities for farmers, millers, and exporters of Chhattisgarh in the international market and will significantly promote value-added agricultural exports. “It is a commendable step forward toward the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and Atmanirbhar Chhattisgarh,” he emphasized.

Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) contains essential nutrients such as iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12, which enhance both food security and public nutrition. This effort not only ensures better health outcomes but also positions Chhattisgarh’s produce as a symbol of nutrition and quality in global markets.

Calling this export a “historic stride” toward the realization of a self-reliant India, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated, “This success is a result of the hard work, quality, and dedication of Chhattisgarh’s farmers, mill operators, and industries. Today, our state is not only the food provider of India but is also emerging as a global brand of nutrition, innovation, and excellence. This is a proud moment that places Chhattisgarh at the forefront of both global trade and the nutrition mission.”

The Chief Minister further remarked that this success will propel the state towards greater economic prosperity, while energizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Malnutrition-Free India” and a Self-Reliant India.

Significantly, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal shared the information on his official social media handle, announcing that the first consignment of 12 metric tons of Fortified Rice Kernel from Chhattisgarh has been exported to Costa Rica.

In his post, Shri Goyal noted that, “In continuation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s efforts to fight malnutrition, this global-level initiative not only strengthens our foreign trade but also reinforces our national nutrition mission. This effort provides our farmers, millers, and exporters with newer markets, better price realization, and a stronger push for value-added agricultural exports.”

This milestone positions Chhattisgarh as both a vital contributor to India’s foreign trade growth and a frontrunner in advancing the nation’s commitment to nutrition, quality, and global agricultural leadership.
