Jio MAMI Film Festival has announced a new award category for digital content for this year’s festival to be held from 12th-18th October. In a statement, co-chairperson of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival Nita Ambani said this Award will encourage young talent to break the boundaries of their creative prowess and take Indian cinema to new and greater heights, especially in the digital space.
The statement said that 25 participants will be shortlisted and mentored by celebrated Indian filmmakers. From these, the top ten films will be showcased at the festival and the film makers will receive a prize money of Rs 2,50,000 each. The two best films will receive the Jio MAMI Reliance Foundation Gold and Silver trophies at the Jio MAMI 2017 closing gala.
