
Assam, the first Guwahati International Film Festival has begun today. Iranian movie The Salesman will be the inaugural movie. Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal formally inaugurates the six-day festival this evening. The festival is being organized by Jyoti Chitraban society, Assam government and Dr Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute.
Official sources said that 75 movies from 35 countries will be screened. The festival has sections like World Cinema, Indian Panorama, Cinema of Assam among others. Interactive programs are also being organized as a part of the festival.
