Embrace Education and Stay Away from Addictions: Chief Minister Sai

Raipur, April 10
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in the General Assembly and Annual Convention of the Kanwar-Pekra tribal community held in Khallari village, Mahasamund district. On this special occasion, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by representatives of the Kanwar community through traditional tribal customs. He inaugurated the assembly by lighting a ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati.
Starting his address with chants of Khallari Mai, Bharat Mata, Chhattisgarh Mahtari, Ram-Janaki Bhagwan, and Kanwar Samaj Ki Jai, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the community. He also offered prayers at the Khallari Mata and Ram-Janaki temples for the prosperity of the state. Paying homage to the land of forest satyagrahis, he said, “I have come to seek your blessings.” On the occasion, he paid tribute to the martyrs of the Forest Satyagraha and honored their families with shawls and coconuts.
The Chief Minister announced development works worth Rs. 55 lakh, which include:
Rs. 20 lakh for construction of a shed in the Ram-Janaki temple premises
Rs. 25 lakh for building a hostel for Kanwar community students
Rs. 10 lakh for the construction of a fully-equipped public toilet
Chief Minister Sai stated that President Droupadi Murmu belongs to a tribal community, and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is continuously working for the welfare of tribal and especially vulnerable groups. He highlighted the launch of schemes like PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Yojana aimed at tribal development.
He appealed to the community to prioritize education and take steps toward de-addiction. He encouraged youth to become self-reliant by taking advantage of skill development programs and government schemes.
Sharing achievements of his 15-month-old government, the Chief Minister informed that:
1.8 million houses were approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana immediately after taking office, out of which 1.4 million are already completed.
On a single day, 300,000 families moved into their new homes.
Farmers received Rs. 12,000 crore as the balance payment for paddy procured at 21 quintals per acre.
Under Mahatari Vandan Yojana, 7 million women are receiving financial benefits, and those left out will also be included soon.
He also spoke about initiatives for tendu leaf collectors, the Ramlala Darshan Yojana, and the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana. He emphasized that the state government is fulfilling all guarantees made by PM Modi.
The Chief Minister announced the launch of the Awas Plus Survey App to identify people still without proper housing, ensuring they too are included in future housing schemes. He reiterated the goal of developing Chhattisgarh into a prosperous and advanced state.

Roop Kumari Chaudhary, Mahasamund MLA Shri Yogeshwar Raju Sinha, former MP Shri Chunni Lal Sahu, former MLA Shri Preetam Singh Diwan, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Seed Corporation Shri Chandrahans Chandrakar, Shri Yetram Sahu, State President of the Kanwar-Pekra Community Shri Harbansh Miri, and many public representatives and community members.
