Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy has released the draft syllabus to be followed in the state board schools.

In the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, NEET conducted for medical admissions, that was made mandatory last year, the number of state board students who qualified were said to be very few in terms of their proportion, as compared to the other board students.

It led to the formation of the state “Curriculum Framework Committee” led by the Anna University former Vice-Chancellor Dr M Ananda Krishnan to redraft the syllabus.

Based on the recommendations of the committee and the sub-committees, the draft syllabus was prepared, keeping in mind the requirements for the students to compete in the national level qualifying examinations.

The draft has been put in the public domain for all stakeholders including teachers, parents and public to express their opinion in the next fifteen days. Later, the finalized syllabus is set to be released.
