
Scholarships for African students who come for studies in India will be increased from the present 24,000 rupees to 50,000 in next 5 years.
The announcement was made by Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar at a function today.
HRD Ministry press release said Javadekar spoke on India-Africa cooperation saying India cherishes its partnership with African countries in various sectors, including skill development.
He said if India provides skill and employment to African students, it will become a demographic dividend.
He emphasized that India is focusing on improving quality in education and government is considering how to attract more foreign students to India.
