Madhusudan Jhunjhunwala, former executive of Usha Martin Industries Ranchi has been nominated as a member of Institute Innovation Council of IIT Kharagpur, informed in a recent press release.
As per the guidelines of the Ministry of HRD Innovation Cell (Government of India), each higher education institute needs to constitute an Innovation Council with representatives from faculty of the institute, industry, corporate, alumni and students. The duties of IIC are to implement innovation activities as directed by the ministry like organising innovation workshops initiated by Smart India Hackathon, Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements etc and inculcate the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students of the institute.After obtaining BTech degree in metallurgy from IIT Kharagpur and MS in mechanical engineering & energy processes from Southern Illinois University USA, Jhunjhunwala started his professional career as manager (sales and marketing) at Usha Martin Ranchi. He had worked in that capacity from 1995 to 1999 and was conferred the Best Young Manager Award by Ranchi Management Association, added the press release.
After extending his services to different companies like Videocon group (COO & Vice President), GE Elpro (President), PCI, MSP Steel & Power, International Conveyors etc he gave up his  corporate career in 2008 to start his own company Gauri Shankar business services private limited at Hyderabad for providing simple solutions to business problems. He believes and practices that no problem ever exists without a solution and a problem is an opportunity to develop the organisation. Jhunjhunwala has also undergone several technical and managerial training at Harvard Business School, USA and leading institutes of Malaysia and Russia. as per the press release.
He has led organisational revival, change management, BPR initiatives in organisations he has served. He also played the lead roles in acquisition of overseas assets and post merger integration.Currently, he is promoting entrepreneurship among the youth and citizens. His webinars on new age entrepreneurship, Atmnirbhar Bharat, Atmnirbhar MSME, Atmnirbhar citizens are available on YouTube, as mentioned in the press release.
