According to university administration, the online examination will commence from April 30. In the ongoing phase of pandemic, regular examinations of universities across the country have been delayed, in such a way that the task of evaluating the exam in the online mode is the proper means of assessment.

JUT, with which all the technical education dimensions of Jharkhand state are connected, including diploma degree engineering management and pharmacy studies, the university has 72 such college affiliations. Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Pradeep Kumar Mishra said that in such a difficult time, the delay in examinations will create a difficult situation for conducting the new session in the event of conducting examinations or not taking time to decide. He has prescribed that all examinations based on assignment-based and semester evaluation will be conducted in online mode.

He added that students will be given a time period of 24 hours to submit the prescribed question papers in writing, during which the students will be able to submit their question papers through an online medium. Mishra stated that this decision is taken keeping in mind the safety of health of students, teachers and employees wherein the entire process from filling the examination form to taking the exam and evaluation will continue in the online mode and the students will be able to sit in their home and participate in the process of the result of the entrance examination.

He further informed that the B.Tech course examination is scheduled from Friday to May 1. B.Tech third semester and first semester examinations will be held from May 15. An evaluation committee has also been set up by the University, headed by Professor Vijay Pandey of BIT Sindri, with Rajesh Tiwari, Deepak Verma, Arvind Kumar and Ratnakar Das as members.

Also, separate committees have been formed for different semesters in which Umesh Kumar and Hare Krishna will look into the fifth semester of diploma, Ayodhya Kumar for the third semester, Vishnu Chattopadhyay for the first semester and Mandira Chatterjee for these activities.

To make the examination process transparent and student friendly, two copies of the necessary instructors have been prepared of which the first copy is for the concerned college and another for students. Students can download the exam timetable and necessary instructions from the JUT website.

In addition, keeping in mind the convenience of the students, each college will determine two nodal officers who will work in the light of consultation with the university. These nodal officers will act as center in-charge and will also help in solving the problems of the students by conducting the examinations in the college properly. In case of any inconvenience, the Nodal Officer will seek guidance from the Apex Committee formed by the University.

Notably, the institution has to determine that the entire examination process is conducted in compliance with the prescribed rules of Covid. The Vice Chancellor has also created a Cohesion cum Steering Committee at the University level in which Registrar in-charge Kunal Kumar, Assistant Examination Controller Raj Dev Kumar and License Officer, Arun Keshav will assist in editing the entire online examination process.
