Education Is the True Wealth of Life: Chief Minister Sai

Raipur, 20 May
Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai stated that “Education is the true wealth of life. Without it, life is incomplete. It is not only a means of employment but also the foundation of holistic development.” He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of an additional room built at a cost of ₹29.90 lakh at the District Library in Mungeli today.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Saw, Union Minister of State Mr. Tokhan Sahu, Mungeli MLA Mr. Punnulal Mohle, and former MP Mr. Lakhan Sahu were also present on the occasion.
While interacting with students, Mr. Sai shared the five qualities of an ideal student:
“Kak cheshta bako dhyanam, shwan nidra tathaiva cha; alpahari grihatyagi, vidyarthi panch lakshanam”—meaning a student should have the effort of a crow, focus of a crane, sleep like a dog, eat little, and live a simple, detached life. He encouraged students to be disciplined, hardworking, and goal-oriented.
In response to a student’s question on the impact of social media, he advised students to embrace the good in the digital age and stay away from its negative influences. Recalling his own struggles during his student days, Mr. Sai said that educational opportunities were limited in the then-undivided Raigarh district, and Natwar School was the only option available. He urged students to make the best use of time, never lose hope, and make hard work their mantra for success.
The Chief Minister praised educational innovations like “Prayas” and the “Nalanda Campus”, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to establishing modern libraries in every district. Appreciating the Mungeli District Library, he noted that it has already served as a foundation for the success of hundreds of youths, calling it not just a place of study, but a “center of success.”
During the event, students who excelled in the 10th and 12th board exams were honored with mementos and certificates of appreciation by the Chief Minister. On this occasion, Mr. Sai was also presented with a handmade portrait by Toap Singh Kumbhakar, along with a copy of the Bhagavad Gita and other memorabilia.
It is noteworthy that the Mungeli District Library currently houses a collection of over 4,780 books, has 893 registered members, 32 study tables, and 11 CCTV cameras. The event was attended by Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, the Chief Minister’s Secretary Mr. P. Dayanand, several senior administrative officials, teachers, and a large number of students.
