Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday evening attended a special commemorative event marking the birth anniversary of late Padma Shri Dr Surendra Dubey, during which the poet’s final anthology titled “Main Chhattisgarh Bolta Hoon” was officially released. The event was held at M.A.C. College Auditorium in Raipur and was chaired by Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Dr Raman Singh.
Paying tribute to the iconic literary figure, CM Sai said that Dr Surendra Dubey made an invaluable contribution to the promotion of Chhattisgarhi language and brought pride to the state by earning recognition across India and abroad through his impactful poetry.
“Today, we are releasing Dr Dubey’s final literary work. Though he is not physically among us, his absence is deeply felt. This is an irreparable loss for both Chhattisgarh and the literary world,” CM Sai said.
The Chief Minister further added, “Dr Dubey was a celebrated poet of wit and wisdom, who introduced the essence of Chhattisgarh—its language, culture, and identity—to audiences far and wide. His poems went beyond humour; they conveyed profound social messages.”
Sharing his personal connection, CM Sai stated, “I had the honour of listening to his poetry on several occasions. He was not only a literary gem but also a person of immense humility, sensitivity, and grace. His deep compassion for the nation, the state, and society was evident in every word he penned. On his birth anniversary, we pay him heartfelt tribute. His words and ideas will continue to live on.”
