Chief Minister Inaugurates Two-Day Tribal Pride Day and Interstate Folk Dance Festival with Grandeur

State-Level Event commences at Raipur’s Science College Grounds

Mesmerizing Performances by Tribal Dance Troupes from 21 States Across the Nation

On the 150th birth anniversary of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the two-day Tribal Pride Day and Interstate Tribal Folk Dance Festival at Raipur’s Science College grounds through traditional worship at Devgudi and lighting the ceremonial lamp. This state-level event will feature seminars on various subjects, a tribal art exhibition, and captivating cultural performances by 28 tribal dance troupes from 21 states across the country over the next two days.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day. Honouring Lord Birsa Munda, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, Shaheed Gend Singh, and Gundadhur, he acknowledged the contribution of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in declaring Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary as Tribal Pride Day nationwide. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi on behalf of the three crore people of Chhattisgarh for this recognition.

Chief Minister Sai mentioned that the grand celebration of Tribal Pride Day began on November 13 in Jashpur. He emphasized the significant contributions of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna, Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee towards the welfare of tribal communities, noting that it was Shri Vajpayee who established a dedicated ministry for the welfare of the 10 crore tribal people in the country.

Highlighting further development efforts, the Chief Minister stated that under the PM Janman Yojana, basic infrastructure is being developed in villages of the special backward tribal communities. He announced that Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Tribal Pride Day from Jamui in Bihar on November 15. Additionally, under the Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Upliftment Campaign launched by the central government, a provision of Rs 80,000 crore has been made for comprehensive development in tribal villages. In Chhattisgarh, 6,691 tribal villages will benefit from improved basic amenities and welfare programs for tribal communities.

The event began with an impressive march-past by tribal dance troupes from 21 states, as the crowd applauded, encouraging the performers. Minister of Tribal Welfare, Shri Ramvichar Netam, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the significance of this celebration as an opportunity to honor the art, culture, traditions, and sacrifice of great personalities who have laid down their lives for the nation. He expressed that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, significant efforts are being made for the welfare of all sections of society.

The event was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Sports Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Devendra Pratap Singh, former minister Smt. Ramshila Sahu, and MLAs Shri Purandar Mishra, Guru Khushwant Singh Sahib, Shri Moti Lal Sahu, Shri Indra Kumar Sahu, Shri Anuj Sharma, along with other public representatives. Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary of Tribal Welfare Department Shri Sonamani Bora, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri P. Dayanand, other officials, and a large gathering of attendees were also present.
