Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai conducted a high-level review of the Department of Tribal Development, Scheduled Caste Development, Backward Class and Minority Welfare today at the Mahanadi Bhavan Secretariat. On this occasion, he inaugurated a new portal for hostel-ashram management. He also initiated the online transfer of the first installment of ₹85 crore (for July to September) for scholarship and meal support under the new system for operating tribal hostels in the academic session 2025–26.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s unwavering resolve to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach every member of the particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs) and tribal communities. “Our goal is to improve their standard of living, empower them to be self-reliant, and ensure their inclusion in the mainstream of development,” he said. He added that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has always been deeply concerned about the tribal community and is working with dedication toward their upliftment. The Central Government is implementing various schemes to ensure access to basic facilities such as education, healthcare, employment, and housing.

CM Shri Sai emphasized the effective implementation of flagship schemes like PM Janman and Dharti Aaba, instructing officials to complete the approved housing and road construction projects with high quality and within the stipulated timeframe. He also directed that camps under the PM Janman scheme must continue to assist beneficiaries in acquiring essential documents such as Aadhaar cards, Ayushman cards, ration cards, and caste certificates.

While reviewing the hostel-ashram facilities, the Chief Minister said that fully equipped hostels should be constructed where needed. He stressed the need to ensure essential amenities like toilets, beds, drinking water, and other facilities. “Any negligence found during inspections will be dealt with strictly,” he warned. He also called for uniform standards of facilities across all hostels and the implementation of real-time monitoring systems to oversee operations.

The Chief Minister inquired about sports complexes operated by the department and expressed satisfaction with the achievements of children in various sports. He announced plans to upgrade facilities in all 20 sports complexes across the state to help nurture talent, enabling athletes to perform better in Khelo India, national, and international competitions.

During the review of Prayas Residential Schools, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of appointing highly qualified instructors and ensuring that students are prepared for various career paths including engineering, medical, CLAT, CUET, and others.

He also directed the timely completion of all approved and ongoing construction projects under the Tribal Development Department and instructed that fully equipped buildings be constructed for institutions currently operating without proper infrastructure. He called for early meetings of the Central Region Development Authority and the Scheduled Caste Development Authority.

The CM also reviewed projects for the preservation and promotion of tribal culture, including the construction of Devgudis (tribal temples) and the development of Akharas (community centers). He instructed that Akhara sites be provided with adequate lighting, seating, shelters, and drinking water facilities.

Shri Sai reviewed the Tribal Youth Hostel operated by the state government in New Delhi and recommended that recently selected All India Services officers be consulted to guide aspiring civil service candidates, helping them strategize based on current trends. He expressed confidence that such efforts will help more youth from Chhattisgarh rise to prestigious positions and contribute significantly to the state’s development.

The review meeting also included detailed discussions on Eklavya Residential Schools, the Chief Minister Higher Education Incentive Scholarship Scheme, Tribal Multipurpose Marketing Centers, Forest Rights documentation, and other departmental schemes.
