Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has extended heartfelt thanks on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh—especially those in the Bastar region—to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, for approving the construction of a 4-lane Keshkal bypass with paved shoulders at a cost of ₹307.96 crore. The CM stated that this bypass will eliminate traffic bottlenecks in the Keshkal Ghat section and ensure smooth, safe, and uninterrupted travel.
CM Sai emphasized that the “double-engine government” (referring to combined efforts of central and state governments) is driving rapid development in Bastar. He called this approval a result of a coordinated development policy between the Center and the State, and a concrete step toward integrating tribal regions like Bastar with the mainstream. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari for their visionary leadership and initiative, the Chief Minister termed this a decisive step for the region’s development.

Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, in a tweet, informed that approval has been granted for the construction and upgrading of an 11.380 km long 4-lane bypass on National Highway 43 (now NH-30) in Kondagaon district, at a cost of ₹307.96 crore. The bypass, built to paved shoulder standards, is intended to ease travel through the challenging Keshkal Ghat section, greatly enhancing connectivity in Bastar.
