Deputy CM Vijay Sharma reviews the functioning of Technical Education and Employment and Science and Technology departments

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma held a review meeting at his residence regarding the functioning of the Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology, Chhattisgarh Regional Science Centre, and the Department of Technical Education and Employment.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma said that an Artificial Intelligence gallery, a Space Museum, and a Climate Change Museum will be established in Science City.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the objective of these modern institutions will be to connect the youth with future technologies and environmental research. In the meeting, he also talked about monitoring the progress of major construction works in the state through satellite images.
He directed to complete the establishment of the Astro Science Center in Maya Pur village of Pratapgarh tehsil of Surajpur district at the earliest, so that the students and researchers of the state can get a platform in the field of astronomy. Apart from this, instructions were given to start a helpline system for the protection of intellectual property rights in the state.
In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister directed to prepare a Student Startup and Innovation Policy on the lines of Gujarat to make the youth of the state self-reliant and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. Under this policy, a special innovation center, i-Hub, will be established, which will provide guidance and resources to the youth of the state to realize their startup and innovation ideas.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed to empower technical development and digital services in employment offices.
He said that through the Chhattisgarh Employment App, more employment opportunities will be made available to unemployed youth of the state. This app will not only help the youth in registration but will also provide information about the employment prospects based on their qualifications. He also directed to publicize this app so that more and more youth can take advantage of it.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma directed to organize special camps at the district level to assist the youth registered for the upcoming recruitments under the Agniveer scheme and provide them with training. He said that every possible resource should be made available for the online and offline preparation of these youths. The process of appointing trainers and providing study material should be expedited. Instructions were also given to ensure transport facility to take the applicants to their examination centers during the examination.
For improvement in the field of technical education, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma said that necessary amendments should be made in the service recruitment rules of the teacher and clerical cadre working in ITIs, polytechnics and engineering colleges. The process of issuing no-objection certificates for studying M.E., M.Tech., and Ph.D. courses under the QIP scheme to teachers working in government engineering colleges and polytechnic institutions should be simplified and expedited.
He also directed to expedite the work of establishing the Chhattisgarh Institute of Technology (CGIT) at five locations in Chhattisgarh – Nava Raipur, Kabirdham, Jagdalpur, Raigarh, and Jashpur in the upcoming session 2025-26. These institutions will be operated on the lines of IITs and will provide high-quality technical education to the youth.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that the work of policy formulation for training teachers working in institutions is underway, which will be completed in the next two months.
He said that this policy is very important for increasing the quality of education and providing better education to the students. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that the objective of the Chhattisgarh government is to connect the youth with modern education and technical training so that they can make their mark at the national and international level. The decisions taken by the government will take the state to new heights in the field of technical education.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Science and Technology, Secretary Technical Education Department Shri S Bhartidasan and Director Technical Education Department Shri Rituraj Raghuvanshi and other departmental officers were present.
