Deputy CM Sao inspects Jal Jeevan Mission works on very first day of new year

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Public Health Engineering Arun Sao took to the field on the very first day of the new year to expedite the works of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Today, he visited the Agamdham-Khandwa Multi-Village Water Supply Scheme, about 75 kilometers from the capital Raipur, in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.
He conducted a surprise inspection of the intake well being prepared for the scheme at Chakravay anicut on the Shivnath River near Damakheda and the water treatment plant under construction at Gram Kirwai. He directed to expedite the construction of both works and complete the work within the time limit with full quality. Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department Shri Mohammad Kaiser Abdul Hakeem, Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission Shri Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and former MLA Shri Shivratan Sharma were also present during this time.
Deputy Chief Minister Sao closely inspected the construction works of the intake well and water treatment plant of the Agamdham-Khandwa Multi-Village Scheme.
He understood the water purification process by looking at the drawings and designs of the water treatment plant in Kirwai. He asked the departmental officers and the construction agency about the testing of the materials used and the quality of construction in the construction works. He directed the senior officials to regularly visit both the sites and ensure the quality of the works.
Sao told the construction agency that this is a big and important scheme for the supply of clean and safe drinking water in this entire area. It will provide drinking water to 50 villages. All its components should work well. He also took information about the progress of the work of laying pipelines and constructing tanks in the villages.
A scheme of about 75 crores, 15 thousand families will benefit
The Agamdham-Khandwa Multi-Village Water Supply Scheme will provide clean drinking water to more than 15 thousand families in 50 villages of Simga development block. Water from the Chakravay anicut built on the Shivnath River in Tora village will be supplied to every household through water tanks constructed in each village. About 40% of the work of this scheme costing around 75 crores has been completed. The target is to complete the work of the scheme by June this year.
Climbed the water tank to check the quality, took feedback on water supply from women
Deputy Chief Minister Sao also inspected the single-village water supply scheme at Saddu in Tilda development block of Raipur district today. He climbed the water tank and checked the quality of construction.
He also went to the houses of the village and saw the flow of water from the tap. Sao also discussed with the sarpanch, panchs, other villagers and women and took feedback regarding water supply. The villagers told that sufficient water is coming from the tap in the morning and evening. Under the already operational tap water scheme in Saddu, 212 house connections had been given. After the construction of the second water tank in the village under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 292 more house connections have been given. Together, there are now 504 tap connections in the village. There are two water sources to fill the tanks.
During the discussion with the villagers, Deputy Chief Minister Sao said that the taps installed in every house, the water tanks and water sources installed in the village are yours. You people have to use, maintain, maintain and protect them. After the completion of the scheme, the operation of the tap water scheme will also be done by the gram panchayats. During the inspection of the Agamdham-Khandwa Multi-Village Scheme and the Saddu Single-Village Scheme by Shri Sao, Chief Engineer Shri Rajesh Gupta of the Public Health Engineering Department, Raipur, and other departmental officers were also present.
