Deputy CM Sao attends mass marriage programme, congratulated and wished the newlyweds

Raipur, March 27
Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Samuhik Vivah Yojana, 192 couples were united in marital bonds through traditional rituals at a mass wedding organized today in the district headquarters of Mungeli.
The wedding ceremony was held in a very enthusiastic atmosphere at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Mungeli, with a procession accompanied by music and celebrations. Upon reaching the venue, all the grooms were given a grand welcome.
Deputy Chief Minister Sao, along with his wife Mrs. Meena Saw, attended the event as the chief guests. He blessed all the newlywed couples and wished them a happy married life. Each newlywed couple was presented with a check of ₹35,000 and gifts from the state government. MLA Mr. Punnulal Mohle also participated in the event.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao said that the government is committed to reducing the economic hardships of poor families. Marriage and medical treatment are two major expenses that the government is now supporting. Under the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat scheme, free treatment up to ₹5 lakh is being provided. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai’s government has strengthened the Kanya Vivah Yojana for poor families. He congratulated the district administration for successfully organizing the weddings of 192 couples and assured that the government will continue to help those in need.
MLA Mr. Punnulal Mohle, while wishing the newlyweds, said that under the Chief Minister’s Kanya Mass Wedding Scheme, each couple is being given a check of ₹35,000 and gifts worth ₹15,000. He urged people to take full advantage of government schemes and mentioned that the government is running various welfare programs for housing, health, education, drinking water, electricity, and other basic needs. District Collector Mr. Rahul Dev, Superintendent of Police Mr. Bhojram Patel, Forest Division Officer Mr. Sanjay Yadav, CEO of District Panchayat Mr. Prabhakar Pandey, District Panchayat President Mr. Shrikant Pandey, Vice President Mrs. Shanti Devcharan Bhaskar, along with elected representatives, family members of the bride and groom, and several eminent citizens, were present at the event in large numbers.
