Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma Reaches Chingavaram and Pays Tribute to Brave Jawans and Villagers Martyred in Bomb Blast by Naxals

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap today arrived in Chingavaram, Sukma district, on a one-day visit. They were accompanied by Bastar Range Inspector General of Police Shri P. Sundarraj, Collector Shri Devesh Kumar Dhruv, and Member of Women’s Commission Ms. Deepika Sori.
The program commenced in Chingavaram with tributes paid to the brave jawans and villagers martyred in the bomb blast carried out by Naxals on May 17, 2010. Floral tributes and lighting of lamps were offered to the pictures of the martyrs. On this occasion, families affected by the bus accident and villagers also remembered and paid homage to the brave martyrs. During the program, Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma directly interacted with all the bereaved families, inquired about their well-being, and gathered information related to the past incident.
Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, addressing the gathering, stated that “The state government is providing benefits of all government schemes to the villagers.” He clarified that “The Chief Minister of the state, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, himself belongs to the tribal community and is leading the entire state.”
Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma stated that “Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has clearly stated that armed Maoism will be completely eradicated from the country by March 31, 2026, and peace will be established in the state within the next one year.” He appealed to the public that if any misguided individuals are in their contact, they should be persuaded to join the mainstream of society.
Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, in his address, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for their resolve to develop Bastar and make it Naxal-free. He said that “This resolve is also the resolve of the Chief Minister of the state, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.” He stated that “Our government is with every single person in Chingavaram. Currently, the security situation has improved, and this area will be Naxal-free within the next one year and will achieve heights of development. I salute our immortal martyrs, whose sacrifice will not go in vain.”
At the end of the program, Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma honored the families of the brave jawans and villagers martyred in the bus accident with shawls and ‘Shriphal’. He also announced the construction of a community building in Chingavaram in memory of the martyrs, which will also house a memorial with pictures of all the fallen heroes. He also announced the construction of a stage in the panchayat, the repair of a stop dam, and the construction of a paved road.
In honor of the historic success of Operation Sindoor, a grand ‘Tiranga Yatra’ (Tricolor March) rally was organized today in Chingavaram. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap were specially present on this glorious occasion.
Villagers from Chingavaram and surrounding areas participated in the rally with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. Hundreds of people present marched holding the tricolor and chanting patriotic slogans. This event not only honored the indomitable courage of the security forces but also showed that the common citizen of Bastar is now standing against terror and fear.
