Deputy Chief Minister Sharma Meets Union Tourism Minister Shekhawat

Raipur, January 6

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma met Union Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today in New Delhi. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Shri Vivek Acharya, were also present during the meeting. Shri Sharma submitted proposals for two major tourism development projects in the state to the Union Minister.

Under the guidance and directions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, proposals worth approximately ₹200 crore were submitted to the Government of India under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme. These include the beautification of the Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya Yagya Kund Complex at Champa and the Bhoramdeo Corridor project in Kabirdham district.

The proposal for the Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya Yagya Kund Complex at Champa includes the beautification of the complex, construction of an entrance gate, pond beautification, parking area, installation of a grand statue of Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya, a museum, a convention center, halls for Bhagwat Katha and discourses, a children’s garden, a cafeteria, road development, landscaping, a souvenir shop, drinking water facilities, and public toilets.

The Bhoramdeo Corridor project encompasses the development and beautification of the Bhoramdeo Temple Complex, a tourist information center, Shiv Plaza, beautification of the lake and Saroda Dam, a children’s park, guest houses, a library, a museum, a community hall, a fairground, entrance gates, and parking facilities. Additionally, it proposes the beautification of Cherki Mahal, Madwa Mahal, and Ramchuwa Temple, along with the construction of ghats for water sports.

Union Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat praised these projects and assured full support from the Central Government for their implementation.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is consistently striving to preserve the state’s cultural and historical heritage and establish it on national and international platforms. These projects will provide a new identity and direction to tourism in Chhattisgarh.
