Continuous Fertilizer Supply to Farmers in the State Must Be Ensured: CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai held a high-level review meeting today at the Mahanadi Bhawan Secretariat regarding the availability of fertilizers and seeds in view of the upcoming Kharif season. Addressing the officials, Chief Minister Shri Sai instructed that a continuous supply of fertilizers to farmers across the state must be ensured.

The Chief Minister specifically emphasized promoting the use of NPK fertilizers in place of DAP and directed officials to make farmers aware of its benefits. He instructed that the availability and distribution of fertilizers in cooperative societies at the district level should be closely monitored and regularly reviewed through the collectors.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this period is extremely crucial for farmers with regard to agricultural activities. Any disruption in the supply of fertilizers and seeds at this time will directly impact the sowing and yield of crops. He directed that fertilizers be made available to farmers in adequate quantities, on time, and at appropriate prices. He added that arrangements are also being made to supply NPK fertilizers through societies and that immediate steps should be taken to ensure its availability to farmers.

Expressing serious concern over the sale of substandard and counterfeit fertilizers, he ordered strict and immediate action in such cases.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Agriculture Production Commissioner Smt. Shahla Nigar, Director of Agriculture Shri Rahul Dev, along with officials and employees of MARKFED.
