Continuous Efforts to Improve Healthcare in Chhattisgarh Under Guidance of CM Sai

Raipur, December 26

Continuous efforts are being made to expand healthcare facilities under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal is constantly taking feedback from officials to further improve medical education. Under his direction, a Clinico-pathological Correlation (CPC) meeting was organized today at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Smriti Hospital, Raipur, in the telemedicine hall of the hospital.

During this, Commissioner of Medical Education Smt. Kiran Kaushal also virtually joined the meeting.

The objective of this meeting is to further improve the services provided in the hospital by analyzing the clinical (related to examination and treatment/therapeutic) and pathological (related to the disease examination) reasons for the treatment of patients. In this meeting, doctors discussed the clinical protocols of clinico-pathology and analyzed data based on patient cases for clinico-pathological correlation.

Anesthesia specialist Dr. Jaya Lalwani, while giving information about this conference, said that it is mainly based on the case presentation of medical education. Through case presentations, discussions are held about patients admitted to various departments and the treatment provided to them. If a patient dies, the clinical (diagnostic such as pathological and radiological examinations) and therapeutic reasons for the cause of death are evaluated. If a patient does not get proper treatment in the hospital, then whose mistake it was, the responsibility of that department is also fixed.
Medical Superintendent of Ambedkar Hospital Dr. Santosh Sonkar said that this is an important part of the teaching given to medical students in medical colleges and associated hospitals, through which the clinical and pathological aspects of a patient’s entire treatment are discussed. Through case discussions in the conference, doctors from all departments give their suggestions to provide better treatment to patients through interdepartmental cooperation. By correcting the mistakes made during the treatment, they reach its final diagnosis.
Dr. Smit Srivastava, Head of the Cardiology Department and Chairman of this meeting, said that many times patients continue to get treatment in other hospitals and when their condition becomes very serious, they reach our institution.

Through clinico-pathological correlation, cases that reach the hospital in a critical condition were also discussed. Cases of cardiology and surgery departments were discussed. Suggestions were given by all the departments so that positive results could be obtained.
Dr. Rabia Parveen Siddiqui of the Pathology Department said that the sooner the pathology test is done, the sooner the patient’s treatment can be started. Now that the reagents required for pathology tests are available, all types of tests of patients are being done easily, which is making it easy to find the causes of the disease quickly. Other medical teachers including Dr. Manju Singh, Dr. O.P. Sundrani, Dr. R.L. Khare, Dr. Rabia Parveen Siddiqui, Dr. Varsha Mungutwar, Dr. S.K. Chandrawanshi, Dr. Divakar Dhuran Dhar, Dr. Anjum Khan were present in the meeting.
