This Constitution is the result of our centuries of struggle, experience, and achievements. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the celebration of Constitution Day 2024 was started today, November 26. Today marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution. The Chief Minister said that our Constitution makers, while talking about fundamental rights, have also included a picture of Lord Ram, Mother Sita, and brother Lakshman. He said that this picture is from the time when Lord Ram was returning to Ayodhya after the victory of Lanka. We need to understand what message our Constitution makers have given us through this picture. There are many such pictures and signs in the Constitution, through which the Constitution makers have indicated that we have to take democracy forward along with Indian culture and life values.
The Chief Minister said that it is also a major feature of our Constitution that it has a provision for amendment if necessary according to changing times. Our Constitution makers did not impose their wishes and ideas on the country, but with their foresight, they left the scope for future generations to amend it according to the circumstances of their time, their knowledge, and their needs.
Speaking at the program, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Tankram Verma said that on this glorious occasion of Constitution Day, we have to make people aware of the rights conferred by the Constitution and our fundamental duties. The Constituent Assembly took two years, eleven months, and eighteen days to frame the Constitution. This Constitution of India is a model for the whole world. The Constitution is not just a book, but a philosophy of the life of democracy. The Constitution determines duties and rights. It is a symbol of the unity and integrity of the country.
Forest Minister Shri Kedarnath Kashyap said that to reach the Constitution of India to the people, the Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, has called for celebrating Constitution Day. The world’s largest constitution gave the daughter of the forest the opportunity to sit on the highest post of the President of the country. If there is any means to uplift the Dalits, it is the Constitution of India. To keep democracy strong, all the people of the country will have to be aware of the duties given in the Constitution. The makers of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, will be remembered for ages to come.
