CM Vishnu Deo Sai pays floral tributes to martyred jawans

Raipur, January 7

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today paid floral tributes to the martyred jawans and the driver who died in the IED blast on the Kuteru-Bedre road in Ambheli village of Bijapur district on Monday at the Dantewada police line.

He met the families of the martyred jawans and expressed his condolences and gave them courage.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is with them every step of the way.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister and In-charge Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Bastar MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap, Dantewada MLA Shri Chaitram Atami, Bijapur MLA Shri Vikram Mandavi, former MP Shri Deepak Baj, former MLA Smt. Devti Karma, along with DGP Shri Ashok Juneja, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri Rahul Bhagat, ADGP Shri Vivekananda Sinha, Commissioner Bastar Shri Doman Singh, IG Bastar Range Shri Sundarraj P., DIGs Shri Kamlochan Kashyap and Shri Amit Kamble, Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi, Superintendent of Police Shri Gaurav Rai, along with police and CRPF officers and other public representatives and dignitaries paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of the martyred jawans and the driver.
Chief Minister Sai, along with the Deputy Chief Minister and Forest Minister, carried the mortal remains of martyred jawan Baman Sodhi and sent him to his native village. Similarly, the mortal remains of other martyred jawans and the driver were sent to their native villages.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the cowardly attack by the Naxalites in the Kuteru area of Bijapur is not only an attack on our jawans but also an attack on the values of democracy and peace. The sacrifice of the jawans will not go in vain. The campaign to eliminate the Naxalites will continue.

Chief Minister Sai said that violence and terror will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Our government is fully committed to establishing peace in the Bastar division and Naxalism will be eradicated from the state by March 2026.

It is noteworthy that 8 DRG jawans and a driver were martyred after being caught in an IED blast carried out by Naxalites in the Kuteru area of Bijapur district.
