CM Sai to shower flowers from helicopter on Lord Shiva devotees in Bhoramdeo

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will shower flowers from a helicopter on Lord Shiva devotees in Bhoramdeo on Monday, August 5. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma shared details of this historic event, stating that the Chief Minister will depart from Raipur by helicopter at 7:00 AM and reach Bhoramdeo around 7:30 AM. There, he will shower flowers on thousands of Lord Shiva devotees who have walked hundreds of kilometres to offer water to Lord Shiva. This marks the first time in Chhattisgarh’s history that the state’s head will personally shower flowers on pilgrims. Afterwards, he will offer prayers at the Bhoramdeo temple for the state’s prosperity and well-being.
Chief Minister Shri Sai to perform ‘Rudrabhishek’ at Budha Mahadev Temple in Kawardha
Following the flower shower in Bhoramdeo, Chief Minister Shri Sai will visit the Bhoramdeo temple at 8:00 AM. From 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, he will perform pooja and ‘rudrabhishek’ at both the Bhoramdeo temple and the ancient Budha Mahadev temple in Kawardha, offering prayers to the five-faced Budha Mahadev. Deputy Chief Minister and local MLA Shri Vijay Sharma will accompany the Chief Minister during this visit.
During the auspicious month of Shravan, thousands of pilgrims traditionally bring Narmada water from Amarkantak to perform ‘rudrabhishek’ at the Bhoramdeo and Budha Mahadev temples. This tradition has been ongoing for 25 to 30 years, with the number of pilgrims increasing annually. Chief Minister Shri Sai’s flower shower this year adds special significance to this tradition.
Sgnificance of Bhoramdeo and Bhudha Mahadev
The Bhoramdeo temple and the Budha Mahadev temple in Kawardha hold deep religious and cultural significance in Chhattisgarh. Known for its antiquity and intricate architecture, Bhoramdeo temple is often referred to as the “Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh.” It draws a large number of Lord Shiva devotees, especially during the month of Shravan. Similarly, the Budha Mahadev temple has its historical and religious importance. Every year during Shravan, thousands of Shiva devotees perform ‘rudrabhishek’ in these temples, bringing Narmada river water in their ‘kavads.’
Special security measures and preparations have been made for Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s visit to Bhoramdeo and Kawardha. The police administration and other relevant departments have been instructed to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for the smooth execution of the event. Specific security measures have been implemented for the flower shower from the helicopter. Also, proper arrangements have been made to ensure that Lord Shiva devotees can complete their religious rituals without inconvenience.
