CM Sai offers prayers to Lord Gautam Buddha, wishes for prosperity and well-being of the people of the state

On the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh offered prayers to Lord Gautam Buddha in Bhongapal, located in Kondagaon district. They prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the people of the state.

During the event, a formal worship ceremony was conducted amidst the chanting of the “Buddham Sharanam Gachchhami” mantra by Buddhist monks who arrived from Bodh Gaya, including Bhante Ashvajit Mahathera, Bhante Gyanvansh Thero, Bhante Sheelvansh Thero, Bhante Pramod, and Bhante Dean from Vietnam.

It is noteworthy that Bhongapal houses a 6th-century chaitya (Buddhist shrine), where a statue of Lord Buddha is enshrined. It is a well-known religious and tourist destination.

On this occasion, local MLA from Keshkal, Shri Neelkanth Tekam, along with other regional public representatives, Bastar Commissioner Shri Doman Singh, IG Shri Sundarraj P., Collector Nupur Rashi Panna, SP Shri Y. Akshay Kumar, and other officials were present, along with a large number of followers of Buddhism.
