CM Sai Obtains Information on Flood Situation in Bastar Division from Japan via Telephone

During his visit to Japan, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai obtained information about the flood situation caused by heavy rainfall in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. He had a telephonic discussion with Revenue Secretary and Disaster Relief Commissioner Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale and Bastar Division Commissioner Shri Doman Singh to learn about the progress of relief and rescue operations and issued necessary directives.
Revenue Secretary Mrs. Kangale informed the Chief Minister that the flood situation is ongoing in Dantewada, Bijapur, and Bastar districts. In Lohandiguda, Darbha, and Tokapal development blocks of Bastar district, the administration is continuously conducting relief operations. A total of 21 villagers have been safely evacuated from Mandar village in Lohandiguda block. In addition, villagers in the Lohandiguda area have been rescued with the help of helicopters and boats and relocated to safer areas. Over 68 people have been safely evacuated in the past 24 hours.
Chief Minister Shri Sai instructed the officials to keep the SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) on high alert and ensure that there is no lapse in the relief operations. He directed all collectors in the division to announce warnings in low-lying areas, alerting people to take necessary precautions and reach safer places quickly.
Praising the efforts of the administrative staff, SDRF, and police forces involved in the relief operations, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government is committed to taking all possible measures to ensure the safety of the public.
Shri Sai emphasized, “Public safety is our highest priority. I have instructed the administrative officials and SDRF to stay on high alert and provide assistance to those affected as needed.”
