CM Sai launches seven residential projects by Chhattisgarh Housing Board

Raipur, December 9
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai launched 7 residential projects by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board under the Atal Vihar Scheme at the Chief Minister’s residence office. This initiative aims to realize the vision of “Housing for All.”
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai said that the state government is completing one year in office. To mark this milestone, the Atal Vihar Scheme has been launched to provide affordable housing, especially for the needy in urban areas.
The residential projects initiated by the Chief Minister include construction of houses in 7 different locations: Bhurkoni-Raipur, Patharra-Rajim, Kharatuli-Dhamtari, Sihad-Dhamtari, Pulgaon-Durg, Gurrur-Balod, and Kokadapara-Bijapur. These projects, with an estimated cost of Rs. 300 crore, will see the construction of 1,650 homes, including 1,452 homes under the EWS and LIG categories, and 200 homes under the MIG category. Beneficiaries can register online for the housing projects through the website (www.cghb.gov.in).
The Chief Minister mentioned that inspired by the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, to provide homes to every urban poor family under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the state government has launched the Atal Vihar Scheme. This scheme aims to provide affordable and durable homes with proper roofing for people living in inadequate or temporary housing in various cities and development blocks of Chhattisgarh. The Housing Board has set a target of constructing and allocating 50,000 homes under this scheme.
The Chief Minister also announced that the Housing Board would be provided government land at a rate of Re. 1 per square foot for the Atal Vihar Scheme, and instructions have been given to all district collectors in the state regarding this. The state government is continuing its earlier announced subsidies of Rs. 80,000 for EWS homes and Rs. 40,000 for LIG homes.
Finance and Housing & Environment Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary said that the houses under the Atal Vihar Scheme would be built with high quality. The construction will not be limited to Raipur but will also extend to the remote areas of Bijapur district. This scheme will soon be implemented in all districts.
The Housing Board introduced the regular free-hold scheme for homes in 2012. The state government, prioritizing the demands of the people, recently granted 100% exemption from diversion fees and penalties for free-hold buildings in a Cabinet meeting held on November 26, 2024. This relief will benefit around 80,000 beneficiaries of the Housing Board.
The event was attended by Chief Minister’s Secretary P. Dayanand, Secretary of Housing & Environment Department Ankit Anand, Secretary of Urban Administration and Development Department Basav Raju S., Commissioner of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Kundan Kumar, and senior officials of the Chhattisgarh Housing Board.
