CM Sai Holds Village Meeting (Chaupal) in Basing Villagers Delighted by a Shower of Welfare Announcements

As part of the Good Governance Festival (Su-shasan Tihar), Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today held a Chaupal (village gathering) and public interaction at the BSF camp premises in Basing village, located in the Orchha block of Narayanpur district. Sitting on a cot under the shade of a neem tree, the Chief Minister not only listened to the concerns of the villagers but also won their hearts by announcing benefits worth over ₹1 crore on the spot.

Accompanying the Chief Minister at the Chaupal were Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, and Principal Secretary to the CM, Subodh Singh. CM Sai stated that since April 8, he has been personally visiting different regions to assess the real-time implementation of government schemes and engage in direct dialogue with the people under the Good Governance Festival.

During the Chaupal, villagers welcomed the Chief Minister with traditional turbans and plumes. Young women trained at a summer camp presented him with handmade flower bouquets. The Chief Minister honored meritorious Class 10 students and encouraged the winner of a half marathon. He reviewed the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, ensuring that no eligible woman would be left out. Villagers Smt. Maheshwari Dugga and Smt. Mankay expressed gratitude while sharing the benefits they received from the scheme.

On the issue of Naxalism, CM Sai made a firm statement, saying that with the cooperation of the people of the Abujhmad region, the national resolve to eliminate Naxalism will be fulfilled by March 2026. He also called the state’s rehabilitation policy for surrendered Naxalites the best in the country.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed house keys, cheques, and cash assistance to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, MGNREGA, Noni Empowerment Scheme, and the Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana. A wheelchair was also handed over to a differently-abled beneficiary.

Responding to local demands, the Chief Minister made the following announcements:

₹20 lakh for culvert construction in Murhapadar,

₹20 lakh for a playground and repairs to the boys’ hostel/school in Basing,

₹24 lakh for Anganwadi buildings in Murhapadar and Aehnar,

₹25 lakh for a CC road from the Basing market to the settlement,

₹15 lakh for new Ghotuls (traditional tribal youth dormitories) in Kundla, Basing, and Murhapadar.

Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated a 250-seater hostel building constructed by the Tribal Development Department in Orchha at a cost of ₹8 crore, along with water supply and electrification works.
