CM Sai Flags Off a Team of 68 Youths from the State for the Unity March

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday flagged off a team of 68 youths from the state who will travel to Gujarat to participate in the ‘padayatra’ organised on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The team was flagged off from the office of the Chhattisgarh State Youth Commission in Raipur. These youths will take part in the national ‘padayatra’ from Sardar Patel’s ‘karmabhoomi’ – the place where Sardar Patel devoted his life’s work at Karamsad to Kevadia.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel united 562 princely states and territories under British rule, laying the foundation of an integrated India. His firm resolve, unwavering commitment and tireless efforts wove India into a single whole.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that he had recently attended Bharat Parv held in Kevadia, Gujarat, where he visited the world’s tallest statue—the Statue of Unity—and witnessed a vibrant reflection of India’s cultural unity. He added that Chhattisgarh’s rich culture, diversity and cuisine were also showcased on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that from November 26 to December 06, public representatives from across the country will join the youths of Chhattisgarh in the Unity March, which is a matter of pride for all.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that Sardar Patel’s contribution to building the cultural and geographical unity of India is incomparable. He accomplished the historic task of integrating the princely states, which became the foundation of India’s unity and integrity. He extended his best wishes and congratulations to the selected youths for participating in the national ‘padayatra’.

Jagdalpur MLA Shri Kiran Singh Deo addressed the youths, wished them a bright future and conveyed his best wishes for their participation in the ‘padayatra’.

On the occasion, Raipur District Panchayat President Shri Naveen Agrawal, former MLA Shri Naveen Markandeya, Shri G. Venkat Rao, Shri Shyam Narang, Shri Rahul Tikaria, Secretary of Sports and Youth Welfare Department Shri Yashwant Kumar, along with a large number of youths, officers and employees were present.
