Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that training sessions like ‘Chintan Shivir 2.0’ provide a new perspective to governance and serve as a powerful platform for strengthening the policy-making process. He emphasized that such events offer ministers the opportunity to learn key principles of good governance and transformational leadership.
In the first session of the two-day Chintan Shivir held at IIM Raipur, the Chief Minister and all cabinet ministers actively participated. The session featured in-depth discussions on topics including transformational leadership, visionary governance, culture, good governance, and nation-building.
Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, delivered a lecture on ‘Transformational Leadership and Visionary Governance’, highlighting themes of selfless action and ethical administration through verses from the Bhagavad Gita. He stressed that actions should be undertaken not for the expectation of reward, but because they are inherently right.
Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, former President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), shared his thoughts on ‘Culture, Good Governance, and Nation Building’. He remarked, “India’s unity is not just geographical, but also cultural and spiritual.” He asserted that nation-building is not driven solely by policies or resources, but by cultural consciousness and moral values. Emphasizing the principle of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person in society), he said that the welfare of the most marginalized must be the priority of good governance.
Chief Minister Sai remarked that events like the Chintan Shivir bring new direction and renewed energy to governance. He described the insights from both expert speakers as highly inspiring and valuable for effective policy formulation.
Also present on the occasion were Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri Rahul Bhagat, Special Secretary of the Department of Good Governance and Convergence Shri Rajat Bansal, IIM Raipur Director Prof. Ram Kakkani, and all cabinet ministers.
