On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, a tennis academy will be established in Raipur, a hockey academy in Rajnandgaon, and a Mallakhamb academy in Narayanpur. The objective of these academies is to promote both modern sports and traditional Indian games.
The establishment of these three new sports academies in the state will be a major achievement for sports lovers and athletes.

This step is significant in reviving the traditional Indian sport of Mallakhamb along with modern sports like tennis and hockey. Through training, they will not only hone their skills to represent Chhattisgarh at the national and international levels but will also help in giving a new identity to traditional Indian sports.
It is worth noting that Finance Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary has approved the creation of 13 new posts for the Raipur Tennis Academy, 14 new posts for the Rajnandgaon Hockey Academy, and 13 new posts for the Narayanpur Mallakhamb Academy. The establishment of these academies will accelerate the development of sports infrastructure in the state and help athletes realize their dreams. Through these new sports academies, Chhattisgarh state will not only strengthen its identity on the national sports map but will also move towards creating Chhattisgarh’s identity at the international level.
