CM Inaugurates and Lays Foundation for Development Projects Worth Over ₹625 Crore

Raipur, December 12

The government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is set to complete one year in office on December 13. This milestone is being celebrated as “Janadesh Parv” (People’s Mandate Festival). Speaking at a public gathering in Korba at the CSEB East Football Ground, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s achievements over the past year.

He mentioned that within days of taking office, his cabinet approved the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for 1.8 million families in the state who lacked housing. Beneficiaries were handed over possession of their new homes today. He added that under PMAY, beneficiaries are now receiving permanent housing.

Development Projects Worth ₹625 Crore in Korba

CM Sai emphasized the government’s commitment to accelerating development in Korba, known as the “Power Hub.” Over ₹625 crore worth of projects have been inaugurated and launched in the district, which will significantly boost its development. He acknowledged the substantial funding received through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and its utilization in improving education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The Chief Minister congratulated the district administration for its efforts.

Congratulating Couples Under the CM Kanya Vivah Yojana

As part of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, CM Sai congratulated 102 newly married couples and extended his best wishes for their future.

Support to Farmers and Commitment to Good Governance

Highlighting the government’s efforts for farmers, he stated that paddy is being purchased at ₹3,100 per quintal, with a limit of 21 quintals per acre. The government has also disbursed ₹3,716 crore in pending paddy bonus to over 1.3 million farmers in the last two years. The CM reiterated his government’s commitment to good governance and vowed to continue efforts toward transparency and accountability. He assured that those involved in the PSC scam would not be spared, and a CBI investigation is underway.

Tribal Development and New Industrial Policy

PM Narendra Modi’s Dharati Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan was also highlighted, with a budget allocation of ₹80,000 crore for improving tribal communities’ infrastructure, healthcare, education, and livelihood. This initiative includes 6,500 villages from Chhattisgarh. The CM also outlined benefits under the state’s new industrial policy, which aims to support SC/ST youth, Agniveers, and other unemployed youth through streamlined processes like a single-window system.

Other Announcements and Contributions

The CM announced several developmental projects, including:

  • A bridge over the Hasdeo River at Sarvmangala
  • Construction of an approach road toward the old settlement of Rani Road
  • New Circuit House in Korba headquarters
  • Upgradation of the middle school in Jhagarha to a high school
  • Allocation of ₹23 crore for development works in various wards of Korba Municipal Corporation

Appreciation from Deputy CM and Ministers

Deputy CM and district in-charge minister Shri Arun Sao termed the day historic for Korba, with projects worth ₹625 crore being launched. Industry Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan highlighted initiatives like the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, which provides ₹1,000 per month to women, and paddy procurement policies benefiting farmers. He thanked the people of Korba for supporting the government over the past year.

The event was attended by Union Minister Shri Tokhan Sahu, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, and other public representatives.
