Raipur, May 21

When Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited the PM Janman housing of a Pahadi Korwa family, they gave him a warm and traditional welcome by adorning him with a garland made of Sal tree flowers. As part of the Su-shasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival), the Chief Minister had arrived in the remote tribal village of Hargawa Dhodhrikala, about 70 kilometers from the district headquarters of Balrampur-Ramanujganj. After interacting with villagers at a chaupal (community gathering), he inspected two newly constructed homes under the PM Janman Yojana.

Upon reaching the house of Shri Lahngu Pahadi Korwa, the Chief Minister was greeted with traditional customs. Lahngu and his wife welcomed him warmly with a garland of Sal flowers.

The Chief Minister sat on a traditional cot (khaat) and engaged in a detailed conversation with Lahngu and his family. He interacted naturally and comfortably, asking about their life, daily routine, and culture. When asked about the new house, Lahngu shared that earlier they faced many difficulties living in a mud house, but now with a permanent (pucca) home, they feel secure and at ease.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister was served seasonal local fruits such as tendu, chaar, and lychee in eco-friendly plates and bowls made of Sal leaves. He also tasted aam panna, a traditional summer drink made from raw mangoes. Lahngu’s wife, Darsi, gifted the Chief Minister a mat handcrafted from palm leaves (chhind), along with ragi, kodo millet (kutki), and jackfruit—gifts he accepted with deep respect.

As part of the same visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the newly built PM Janman house of another Pahadi Korwa beneficiary, Mrs. Bhukhna.
